SOC: Seniors post standout weekends
VANCOUVER - Alberta's Ajeej Sarkaria became the conference's men's soccer all-time scoring leader, while Mount Royal's Katrina Greenley came up big in goal, earning the pair Player of the Week honours on Tuesday.
It was a record breaking day for Alberta's Ajeej Sarkaria in the Golden Bears 5-0 win over MacEwan Griffins. The fifth-year forward became the Canada West men's soccer all-time leading scorer when his second goal of the match gave him 40 goals in his career. Prior to his record tying and breaking goals on Sunday, Sarkaria inched closer to the record on Saturday, scoring the lone Alberta goal in a 1-1 draw with the Griffins.
