Key performer:
Adam Paige
Forward
Third-year
Surrey, BC
Third-year forward Adam Paige's development was one of the key cogs to the Bears successful 19-1 Canada West record two years ago. Entering the 2021/22 season, Paige will be relied upon as one of the leaders on this Golden Bears team, both on and off the court.
Paige dropped 12.9 points per game, which was the second-highest mark on Alberta in the 19/20 season. He also shot 49% from the field, including a blistering 41% on three-point attempts.
On an impressive Golden Bears offense in 2019/20, which ranked second in the Canada West in PPG, Paige led the team in field goal attempts; so this year's team figures to rely heavily on Paige to maintain and possibly improve upon these numbers.
With an experienced roster that features eight returning athletes, Paige and the Golden Bears will enter the Canada West season as one of the top contenders challenging for the conference title.

Langley, BC
Although Goertzen won't be a primary offensive creator for the new-look Spartans, his value is found in the importance of his role. TWU, who plays an exciting, fast, and small brand of offence, will be relying on Goertzen to hold down the paint for the team through his strong defensive presence, rebounding, and opportunism. With an important role of leadership held on, and off the court, Goertzen will have to be a factor if the Spartans want to win games in the 2021-22 season.
