No. 2 Cougars host rival Saskatchewan Huskies
REGINA -- The University of Regina's women's basketball team closes out the first half of the Canada West schedule at home this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday against Saskatchewan. Game time is set for 6 p.m. both nights.
The No. 2-ranked Cougars are coming off a pair of road wins at Trinity Western last weekend, though they were two extremely different contests. The U of R had to hold off the Spartans for a 57-51 win on Friday night, but dominated on Saturday and picked up the weekend sweep with an 85-47 victory on Saturday.
Undefeated U of A hoops take on Griffins
EDMONTON -- The undefeated University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas basketball teams will close the first half of the 2016-17 season with a home-and-home series against their inter-city rivals, the MacEwan Griffins this weekend at both the Saville Community Sports Centre, and the MacEwan City Centre Gym.
The weekend series will mark the first time the two Edmonton university programs will meet in Canada West conference play.
Thunderbirds look to ride momentum in battle with UBCO
VANCOUVER -- The undefeated UBC Thunderbirds women's basketball team (6-0) are looking to close out the 2016 portion of their season without a single loss. The only thing standing in their way is the visiting UBCO Heat (2-6), who are 2-1 in their last three games.
Spartans take on Lethbridge in return to the Enarson
LANGLEY – Trinity Western's women's basketball team will be looking to rediscover its winning ways with a blast from the past as the Spartans return to the David E. Enarson gym this weekend for a two-game series with Lethbridge, Friday and Saturday.
