WINNIPEG – The No. 5 Bison men's volleyball team (5-1) is on a four game conference win streak and tied for third spot in the Canada West conference standings. The No.1 Alberta Golden Bears has a 4-0 record. The two teams met in conference play last season when Alberta won 3-0 (Nov. 20/15) and 3-1 (Nov. 21/15) at Alberta and the two teams played at the Canada West Final 4 bronze medal match with the Bears winning 3-0 (Mar. 4/16).
Cougars, Huskies set for weekend battle at CKHS
REGINA – The University of Regina's men's volleyball team is at home this weekend for the first two of four consecutive matches at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport for the Cougars, as they'll square off against the University of Saskatchewan on Friday night (8 p.m.) and Saturday night (7 p.m.).
Cougars host the Heat on Friday night at Kenyon
CALGARY – Although it is not even the halfway point of the season, the playoff race is already beginning to take shape. The Cougars missed an opportunity to sweep TRU and move to 3-1. Now their attention turns to UBC Okanagan who has won only four sets this season. Four points this weekend would put the Cougars right in the thick of things in the Canada West playoff race.
No. 2 Spartans aim to remain unbeaten against MacEwan
LANGLEY – With four wins in their first four outings so far this year, the No. 2 Spartans comes into this weekend looking to stay perfect on the season as they host MacEwan Friday and Saturday at the Langley Events Centre.
WolfPack men’s volleyball set to host UBC this weekend
KAMLOOPS – The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack put the capper on the pre-Christmas home portion of their Canada West men’s volleyball season this weekend. The WolfPack will entertain the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds on the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre. The two teams will do battle Friday and Saturday nights (Nov. 18-19).
