Bears put winning streak on the line against Calgary
EDMONTON — The U Sports No. 3 University of Alberta Golden Bears hockey team will put their five game winning streak on the line this weekend, as they battle the Calgary Dinos in a home-and-home series.
The series opens on Friday at Clare Drake Arena with puck drop scheduled for 7 p.m., before the series shifts to Calgary on Saturday.
Mount Royal hosts Regina in 'Battle of the Cougars'
CALGARY — Mount Royal showed that they are a national championship contender after dismantling No. 2 Saskatchewan 6-0 at home on Friday night. They also showed that they have a lot of work to do after taking it right back on Saturday, falling 6-2 to the same Huskies. Mount Royal has a favourable schedule heading into the holiday break and will need to take advantage of the opponents below them in the standings.
Bisons look to win first home series of the season
WINNIPEG — The Bison men's hockey team (4-4-0) continues the 2016-17 Canada West conference season by hosting the Lethbridge Pronghorns (2-3-3) on Nov. 11-12 weekend at the Wayne Fleming Arena.
The Bisons seek to win their first home weekend series of 2016-17. Manitoba is 1-3 so far at Wayne Fleming Arena (W 3-2 vs. UBC on Oct. 28/16). The Bisons have won four of last six consecutive conference games. This is the first weekend series between the two teams this season.
