Tough test coming up for No. 5 Dinos

CALGARY – It'll be a battle of the league's best offense versus the best defense this weekend when the University of Calgary Dinos host the Saskatchewan Huskies at the Jack Simpson Gymnasium. Both teams come in sweeping their respective series' ahead of one of Calgary's biggest weekends of the season. 

The two teams met in the preseason, when the Dinos won 74-69. The clubs also met last season at the Jack Simpson Gymnasium, where the Dinos won both games by scores of 73-68 and 83-78. The year before, Calgary lost both its games to Saskatchewan. 



Resurgent Vikes welcome Pronghorns for weekend series

VICTORIA - The UVic Vikes men's basketball team will return home after winning three of four straight games on the road, when they play the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns on Friday, January 20 and Saturday, January 21.
The first game of the weekend tips off at 8 pm, while the rematch starts at 7 pm.
"We just think about winning the next game, right now that's all we are focusing on, win or lose we just want to have the best result we can on Friday night and then focus on Saturday night," said Vikes head coach Craig Beaucamp. "We can't get too far ahead of ourselves."



U SPORTS No.3 team comes into Kenyon to face coach Dobell and the Cougars

CALGARY - The Cougars are in tough against the nation's No. 3 team. UBC comes into the game ranked third in USports behind perennial leaders Carleton and Ottawa. Given Carleton's decisive victory over Ottawa on Monday, UBC may even jump to second in the country with a strong performance against the Cougars.



Spartans host Bisons in first home weekend of 2017
