UBC hosts Manitoba in U Sports home opener
VANCOUVER – The Thunderbirds are on the hunt to remain undefeated against the Bisons as they host Manitoba on Friday and Saturday at War Memorial Gym. It'll be the first U Sports action at home for the T-Birds, who opened up their 2016-2017 season on the road and are ranked second in the nation heading into week three.
Bears and Pandas put perfect records on the line against WolfPack
EDMONTON – The undefeated University of Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas basketball teams will return home this weekend, as they face the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack, Friday and Saturday night at Saville Community Sports Centre.
The Pandas will open at 6 p.m. and 5 p.m. respectively, with the Bears scheduled for 8 p.m. and 7 p.m. tip-offs.
Second straight home weekend for men's basketball
SASKATOON – The Huskies host the Brandon Bobcats for the second straight season. Saskatchewan has won six straight games in the series. Brandon's last win came in January, 2013.
Heat host Mount Royal on the UBC Okanagan hardwood
KELOWNA – With their first road trip to the prairies finished, the Heat men's basketball team will now return home to play Mount Royal University this weekend. The two squads will begin their doubleheader on Friday (Nov. 18) with a game that will begin at 8 p.m. The second game between the two teams will be played Saturday (Nov. 19) with a start time of 7 p.m. Both the games will take place at the UBC Okanagan gymnasium in Kelowna.
