VICTORIA – The University of Victoria Vikes men's basketball team is set for their regular season home openers this weekend, Nov. 11-12, against the visiting Calgary Dinos.
Men's basketball hosts Wesmen to open home schedule
SASKATOON — Saskatchewan will wear special jerseys to honour the Canadian Armed Forces on Friday night.
James leads Griffins into home opener
EDMONTON — Personally, there isn’t a lot left for Denzel James to accomplish as he enters his fifth and final season with the MacEwan University Griffins men’s basketball team.
Earlier in his career, he was a first-team ACAC all-star.
When the Griffins moved into Canada West, it didn’t bump him off the all-star team. James made the conference third-team squad the past two seasons.
Cascades, Spartans renew hostilities
ABBOTSFORD — The Cascades men’s hoopsters, like their female counterparts, had a strong start to the season at the defensive end in a weekend split with Saskatchewan. Through two games, head coach Adam Friesen’s squad ranks second in the conference in opponents’ field goal percentage (34.7 per cent) and third in points allowed (64.0 per game).
Timberwolves ready for home opener
PRINCE GEORGE — The UNBC Timberwolves basketball teams both head into their home opening weekend seeking their first regular-season wins, but will face a stiff test with the Alberta Golden Bears and Pandas coming to Prince George for games Friday and Saturday.
